Review Policy

Who may submit a review

You may submit a review if you are aged 18 or over, are describing your own domestic electricity experience, and currently use the supplier or stopped using it within the last 12 months. The experience must also be from the last 12 months.

We require email verification before moderation. “Email verified” means the reviewer controlled the submitted email address; it does not prove their customer relationship.

What to include

Explain what happened, approximately when it happened and how the supplier handled it. Positive and negative reviews are assessed using the same rules.

Do not include account numbers, MPANs, meter details, addresses, payment information, health information, or the names and contact details of individual employees.

What we do not allow

We do not allow fake, copied, coordinated or incentivised reviews; threats, hate or harassment; promotional or irrelevant content; private information; or serious allegations presented as proven fact without adequate support.

Suppliers and their representatives must not submit customer reviews, arrange fake reviews, suppress genuine reviews or reward a customer for a particular rating.

Moderation

Every review is checked before publication. We may publish it, remove private information, ask for clarification, reject it, or later remove it if new information shows that it breaches this policy. We do not change star ratings, rewrite opinions or soften criticism.

A supplier's disagreement is not by itself a reason to remove a review. Anyone may report a specific policy breach, and reviewers may request reconsideration or removal using the email address that submitted the review.

Duplicate and updated reviews

Each verified email address may have one active review per supplier. A later eligible review can replace the earlier one after moderation, preventing the same reviewer from being counted more than once.

Ratings and future rankings

Monthly rankings will use recent eligible reviews from distinct verified email addresses. A supplier will need at least 20 eligible reviews in a 12-month period, and at least three suppliers must qualify before a market ranking is published. Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be ranked separately.

Reviewers are self-selecting, so results may not represent all customers. Ratings describe customer perceptions and are not an independent assessment of prices, processes or regulatory compliance.

Independence

Electricity Bill Calculator may earn a referral fee from some supplier links. Referral relationships and advertising do not influence moderation, ratings or rankings. Suppliers cannot pay for a score, position, badge, response, removal or faster moderation.

Privacy

We publish only the display name, ratings, approved review content, relevant dates and verification label described at submission. Private contact and technical information is used for verification, moderation, preventing manipulation and handling reports.

Use the contact form to report a review, appeal a decision, request removal or raise a privacy question. Include a review reference when available, but do not send supplier account or payment information.
